Burgundy
Burgundy will stimulate your senses, as this region is a major center for wine and gastronomy. The incredible vineyard with mythical Grand Crus such as Romanée-Conti or Meursault in Côte d’Or, Chablis in Yonne or Givry in Saône et Loire bring a twinkle to the eyes of wine lovers. Experience the secrets of the great names such as Corton, Montrachet, Chambertin , or more simply the AOC Pouilly-Fumé or Irancy during a wine tasting at one of the several hundred producers.
In Burgundy, enjoying a good meal is more than a tradition. Nearly each village has its gastronomic tradition, as the Bresse chicken, Charolles beef, snails, Dijon mustard, Flavigny aniseed drops - not to forget about all the various gastronomic Michelin restaurants or authentic country inns. Dijon, the capital, kept splendor and elegance but showed a certain dynamism to renew its image.
Take time to explore Burgundys cultural heritage from the historic archaeologic parks of Bibracte and Alésia to the famous Abbeys of Cluny and Citeaux - not to forget about the castles and mansions of the Dukes of Burgundy! The Hospices de Beaune is one of France’s most prestigious historic monuments with the typical polychrome roofs.
